How do I install the showerhead?
This guide will help you install your Melaure Filtered Showerhead safely and correctly. Follow these simple steps to enjoy cleaner, healthier shower water in minutes.
Installation Steps
1. Turn Off Water Supply
Before starting, turn off the water supply to your shower to prevent any leaks or water damage.
- Locate the shower valve
- Turn clockwise to close
- Test by turning on shower briefly
2. Remove Old Showerhead
Carefully unscrew your existing showerhead from the shower arm using your hands or an adjustable wrench.
- Turn counterclockwise to loosen
- Use a cloth to protect chrome finish
- Set old showerhead aside
3. Clean the Shower Arm
Remove any old plumber's tape or debris from the shower arm threads to ensure a proper seal.
- Wipe threads with a clean cloth
- Remove old tape completely
- Check for damage or corrosion
4. Apply Plumber's Tape
Wrap plumber's tape (Teflon tape) around the shower arm threads in a clockwise direction.
- Wrap 3-4 times around threads
- Always wrap clockwise
- Press tape firmly into threads
5. Attach the Connector
Screw the included connector onto the shower arm, ensuring it's tight but not over-tightened.
- Hand-tighten first
- Use wrench for final quarter turn
- Ensure connector is straight
6. Attach the Hose
Connect the flexible hose to the connector you just installed on the shower arm.
- Align hose threads carefully
- Turn clockwise to tighten
- Hand-tighten is usually sufficient
7. Attach the Showerhead
Screw the Melaure Filtered Showerhead onto the other end of the flexible hose.
- Ensure filter cartridge is installed
- Tighten connection securely
- Check alignment
8. Turn On Water Supply
Slowly turn the water supply back on and check all connections for leaks.
- Turn valve counterclockwise
- Open slowly to avoid pressure surge
- Listen for unusual sounds
9. Adjust Showerhead Position
Position the showerhead at your desired angle and height using the adjustable bracket.
- Adjust angle for comfort
- Tighten bracket securely
- Test movement range
10. Test the Showerhead
Run the shower for a few minutes to ensure proper water flow and check for any leaks.
